Celebrating Erasmus Days at Aristotelio School
This October, Aristotelio School proudly joined schools and organizations across Europe in celebrating Erasmus Days 2025 — an annual event dedicated to sharing and showcasing the impact of the Erasmus+ programme. The celebration brought together students, teachers, and parents to learn more about European cooperation, culture, and the exciting new projects that will shape our school’s international journey.
A Celebration of Learning and Collaboration
The event began with a warm welcome from our Erasmus team, who shared the core message of Erasmus Days: “Enriching lives, opening minds.” Through vibrant presentations, videos, and displays, students presented their experiences from previous Erasmus+ exchanges — stories of teamwork, friendship, and discovery that reached far beyond borders.
The school hall was filled with the colors of Europe — flags, posters, and music representing the many countries involved in Erasmus+. It was not just a celebration, but a reminder that education is a bridge that connects us all.
Presentation of the New Erasmus Projects
During the event, the school proudly presented its new Erasmus+ projects for the upcoming academic year. These projects will focus on key themes such as:
-
Environmental awareness and sustainability – encouraging students to act locally and think globally.
-
Digital innovation and inclusion – using technology to enhance learning and equal opportunities.
-
Cultural heritage and European identity – exploring the shared values and traditions that unite Europe.
Students will have the opportunity to collaborate with peers from partner schools in other European countries, exchange ideas, and participate in workshops, virtual meetings, and future mobility visits.
Learning About the History of Erasmus
To understand the importance of Erasmus Days, students also learned about the history of the Erasmus Programme.
The Erasmus Programme was established by the European Union in 1987, originally giving university students the opportunity to study abroad. Over the years, it evolved into Erasmus+, which now includes schools, vocational training, adult education, youth exchanges, and sports.
Named after Erasmus of Rotterdam, a 15th-century humanist scholar who traveled across Europe to exchange ideas, the programme continues his legacy by promoting learning, cultural understanding, and cooperation among young people.
A Spirit of European Unity
The Erasmus Days celebration at Aristotelio School reminded everyone of the power of education to build bridges across nations. Through the Erasmus+ programme, our students are becoming global citizens — curious, open-minded, and ready to shape a better, more connected world.
As one student beautifully said during the event:
“Erasmus+ is not just about traveling; it’s about growing — together.”
