EcoVogue in
Istanbul: Partnering for a Sustainable Future in Fashion and STEAM
Between May
15–16, 2025, the vibrant city of Istanbul hosted the first Transnational
Project Meeting (TPM) for the Erasmus+ project EcoVogue — a transformative
educational initiative titled “Fashioning a Sustainable Tomorrow: STE(A)Ming
Against Climate Change.” This innovative project aims to empower girls aged
14–18 by enhancing their participation in STEAM (Science, Technology,
Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) through the creative lens of sustainable
fashion and climate action.
Project Goals and Vision
At its
heart, EcoVogue is about bridging creativity, education, and environmental
responsibility. The project brings together seven partner organizations from
across Europe to:
·
Increase
girls’ interest in STEAM disciplines.
·
Develop
engaging, multimedia-based learning strategies.
·
Promote
sustainable fashion as a means to explore climate change.
·
Empower
teachers with resources and pedagogical strategies tailored to this
interdisciplinary approach.
Key
Outcomes from the Istanbul TPM
One of
WP2’s standout outputs is a series of interview videos with six inspirational
women working at the intersection of fashion and technology. These role models
provide valuable insights into how creativity and innovation can drive
sustainable change.
The TPM in
Istanbul was a milestone that reaffirmed EcoVogue’s collective vision:
nurturing a new generation of girls who are confident, creative, and committed
to sustainable innovation through STEAM. With strong cross-border collaboration
and clear project milestones, EcoVogue is on track to make a lasting impact —
in classrooms, in communities, and across the fashion world.
Stay tuned as we move forward into the next phases of this exciting and empowering journey!
